About Our Profession
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) is defined as the professional who engages in professional practice in the areas of communication and swallowing across the life span. Communication and swallowing are broad terms encompassing many facets of function. Communication includes speech production and fluency, language, cognition, voice, resonance, and hearing. Swallowing includes all aspects of swallowing, including related feeding behaviors.

Meet our Speech-Language Pathologist…
Hi,
I am Aathi. It's a great pleasure to introduce myself as a speech-language pathologist (SLP). My journey in the field of speech and hearing sciences has been driven by a deep passion for helping others, which has evolved into a rewarding career spanning over 13 years.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of assisting clients of all ages in a wide array of settings, including acute hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, teaching hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, Head Start programs, preschools, special schools, and public schools spanning from TK to 12th grade.
Having worked internationally and in various states across the United States, I've been fortunate to serve individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This extensive experience has allowed me to broaden my understanding of individuals from all walks of life, each with their unique abilities, needs, and challenges.
Furthermore, I've had the honor of sharing my knowledge by teaching speech-language pathology courses as a faculty member at a public university. This experience has enabled me to convey my clinical expertise and educate the next generation of professionals in the field of speech and hearing sciences.
Today, as a private practitioner, I am enthusiastic about my role in making a positive impact on the lives of individuals both locally and globally, helping them reach their full potential.
